Courageously Playful Woman Retreat
Tulum, Mexico
May 2025
The Courageously Playful Woman Retreat took place May 17–22, 2025, in the lush jungles of Tulum, Mexico. Ten brave, brilliant women gathered for five deeply restorative days of healing, connection, and play. Designed as a sanctuary for high-achieving women ready to soften the grip of perfectionism and reconnect with joy, the retreat offered space to exhale and remember who they are beneath the doing.
Each day began with gentle movement and grounding somatic practices, inviting guests to land in their bodies and begin to slow down. Through expressive arts, playful rituals, and moments of quiet reflection, our community built deep trust—and guests courageously met their inner child with compassion. We explored what it means to rest on purpose, to let go of "shoulds," and to simply exist in joy. The days felt sacred, silly, powerful, and beautifully real.
One of the most unforgettable parts of our retreat was swimming in the cool, sacred waters of our private cenotes. We held a sound bath ceremony in the cave, surrounded by crystal-clear waters and candlelight, where vibrations moved through our bodies and hearts with healing resonance. We also experienced a magical cacao ceremony and tarot reading, where intentions were set, intuition was honored, and deep emotions surfaced gently and meaningfully.
Our onsite professional photographer played a powerful role in helping our guests fully arrive in the moment. She captured both the quiet beauty and the joyful connection of the retreat, allowing participants to put down their phones and simply be present. She also offered empowering personal photoshoots, creating space for each woman to be witnessed in her softness, strength, and full radiant self—without needing to perform or strive.
The nourishment went beyond emotional and spiritual—it was also deeply physical. Our private chef lovingly prepared delicious, wholesome meals that delighted every sense. Each plate felt like a love letter to our bodies, keeping us grounded and energized throughout the week. We shared meals under the canopy of the jungle, with laughter and conversation flowing freely.
We also ventured beyond the retreat grounds for a boat tour through Sian Ka’an Biosphere Reserve, a stunning and untouched stretch of protected land and water. Manatees, crocodiles, and crystal waters reminded us of the wild beauty of the natural world—and our place in it. This retreat wasn’t just a pause from daily life—it was a profound reconnection with our deepest selves, and a powerful reminder that healing can be both meaningful and playful.
